The Drug Abuse Resistance Education program (D.A.R.E.) was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles to provide adolescence with the skills needed to resist drug use and peer pressure. Because of the overwhelming success of the program, D.A.R.E curriculum is now taught in over 75 percent of classrooms throughout the United States, and in 43 countries throughout the world.
